Hi Master Rave,

First question that I'd like to pose:
1) Does it hang even when you connect to the internet via Wifi? (This would help eliminate the network card)
2) When you converted this to Windows 7, upgrade lang ba ginawa mo o full install (format and install)?
3) What software are running when you are connecting to the network?

Please be as detailed as possible. Para sure tayo na ma-check natin all areas.

Before you start re-flashing your bios, I'd suggest you try something else first.

Yung problem mo indicates that it cannot find any boot device, most likely the hard drive. What this suggest is that MAYBE your hard drive has failed. If you can plug in the hard drive to a different computer just to verify, then this would tell you what the problem is already. Very unlikely ang issue would be your BIOS. So I suggest you check for the functionality of the hard drive first.

If you want to test the memory of your system though... you could boot into your Windows Vista DVD or Windows 7 DVD then click on the repair my computer link to enter Recovery Environment. In the Recovery Environment, makakakita ka ng option to test your memory.

Still, I suggest to check your hard drive first before anything else.

Hmm... na try mo ba sa ibang computer yun? Kasi yung error message posted mo, di detected ng PC mo yung harddisk kaya ayaw mag boot. Na try mo ba harddisk mo sa ibang computer and see if it can be read? Try also a known good harddisk sa PC mo and see if that would work.

Speaking of BIOS, check mo rin if detected sa BIOS yung harddisk mo, pwedeng na-i-set din lang to disabled. Try setting the harddisk configuration sa BIOS into automatic detection to see if it can actually be detected. Try a known good harddisk and detect mo rin sa BIOS. if hindi detected, try a known good cable din.

Hey Master Rave, I'm sorry... it seems I have overlooked one point in your error message that gave me a clue in what's happening with your system.

BIOS ROM Checksum Error

I believe this makes sense. This could very well be just a low CMOS battery issue. You know... yung battery also known as a 'coin cell' battery. When that battery dies, the CMOS loses all configuration, which could include yung mga harddisk and other hardware configuration sa BIOS for your system to detect all hardware. Quick temporary fix for this: each time you restart the system from full off (cold-boot) pasok ka muna sa BIOS, re-detect all hard disks, then reboot. For a more permanent solution, replace mo yung battery ng CMOS, the one that looks like a battery ng watch or looks like as small coin.

Let me know how it fares.
