Olongapo City – IBM and SOITS fulfilled again its commitment to provide latest knowledge in computing technology. Through the coordinating effort of Ms. Neveil De Guzman, SOITS President, an American IT Expert named Douglas Del Prete conducted a free seminar on Virtualization and Cloud Computing at St. Benilde School on June 24, 2009. Mr. Prete has been in IT profession for almost 30 years and travelled in several countries around the globe. His involvement in several IT projects has gained him impressive track record in database administration and security, project management, enterprise-wide systems and IT infrastructure. Currently, he is connected with IBM Global Industry Solutions particularly on Health Care and Life Sciences.

On the said seminar, he comprehensively presented to the faculty and students the significance of virtualization as a means to optimize IT resources and business competitiveness through the convergence of internet and cloud computing technology. Most of the attendees were delighted on the new technology they have learned as well as free IT workshop courtesy of Discovery and Explore during the Q and A portion of the seminar.
