Olongapo City – The seminar on Windows 7 and technology updates on Microsoft products suite is another remarkable success with an attendance of participants that reached more than 300 from different academes, private companies and agencies and it was held on December 5, 2009 at Sams Pizza Haus, Magsaysay Drive, Olongapo City. Series of technical presentation were done by seasoned speakers from Microsoft and its partners that highlight latest innovations on software products like Operating System, Server Management, Web Technology and Enterprise Security. Mr. Dale Jose, Development and PlatformEvangelist Lead discussed about the latest array of Microsoft platform and its unique, efficient and robust features. Relatively, Microsoft Student Partners namely Ely Concord Delos Santos, Victor Tañedo (Ateneo De Manila University), Jose Tiojanco  (UP Diliman) also presented technology updates for  academe, Windows 7, Internet Explorer 8 respectively and academic partnership program being provided by Microsoft intended for students. With overwhelming excitement and interest of most participants when Windows 7 was demonstrated vividly, enormous interest also surfaced during the presentation of system security done by Mr. Pacammera, MVP for Enterprise Security that bares the vulnerability of system resources against external threats if it is not properly secured.  This event was sponsored by Microsoft Philippines and everybody was delighted by some nice and cool stuff that were given away during Q&A and raffle portion. As an added value for being a participant of said event, renewal and membership for old and new members with privilege card were given as a package incentive upon payment of registration fee. Mr. Prete has been in IT profession for almost 30 years and travelled in several countries around the globe. His involvement in several IT projects has gained him impressive track record in database administration and security, project management, enterprise-wide systems and IT infrastructure. Currently, he is connected with IBM Global Industry Solutions particularly on Health Care and Life Sciences.

Discover & Explore and SOITS Donated Computers PDF Print E-mail

 Morong, Bataan – SOITS and Discover and Explore Computer Centre have fulfilled its commitment to bridge the so-called “Digital Divide” through community-based project. Ms. Neveil De Guzman, owner of Discovery and Explore at the same time President of SOITS proved again her leadership by donating two (2) computer sets with printers to Minanga Elementary School and Pastolan Community Center situated in Morong, Bataan and Pastolan Area, Tipo, respectively. It was held last March 6, 2009 in a separate ceremony witnessed by the school principal and teachers of the school and coordinators of the community center as well.

 

Indeed, the recipients expressed their profound gratitude to Ms. De Guzman in handing them the fundamental tools to develop their set of skills in using the computer as well as to provide the students with basic computer education despite their remote location and financial constraint to acquire knowing this is the first time they have a computer set of their own. This momentous activity was attended by Alvin Dionsay, Sec-General, Neveil DeGuzman and SBMA coordinator for outreach program.

Kudos to President Neveil De Guzman for the job well done. Keep up the good work!
